The house, between analog and digital. New imaginaries transforming our lives. An exhibition collaborative, in constant change; in function of time and space. 999 questions to generate 999 possible ways to live. Home as we've never seen it before.

Curator: Stefano Mirti

Coordination: IdLab

Exhibit design: Petra Tikulin with Mariam Chigvinadze and Miriel Robles

999 questions on contemporary living. Technological, social and economical changes. The house, actually, home. Better: the sense of home, the residences of our existences.A series of Italian and international experiences, programmed to engage the public in an active way. Different things to do. Physical and digital spaces. Social media as well. An exhibition to look at, touch and try. “If I listen I forget, if I see I remember, if I do I understand." An exhibition that acts as a broad home. A large home with all its various spaces, situations, activities and relationships.

The visitor is taken on a true journey inside the home of the future (now, our present), moving from one space to another, interacting with all kinds of new ways to “live”.

From this point of view, the house is no longer a place, but an experience. This exhibition focuses on these new “experiences” of living.

A new “living” for which the line between inside and outside has become blurred and uncertain. A home stretched and opened to the world, a city welcoming different forms of living and inhabiting.

An exhibition space understood as a matrix living from the intersection of space and time. As if it were a physical, three-dimensional and animated schedule, which comes to life according to the hours, days, weeks. A floor plan defining a playground which is slowly filled as the partnerships with schools, companies, institutions, community are settled.

A modular structure with a strong scenic impact, able to accommodate the various contents / environments provided for the exhibition.A space that is both an experimental place (meetings, workshops, hands-on activities), and a place of scenic representation (wonder and fascination of the visitor). The whole exhibition becomes a new home.

The contemporary home where we live.

Installation/Entrance

Entering this dark space you will find yourself in front of a floating cube / cube suspended, made by LCD screens that will show/ask some of the 999 questions about house living.

Suddenly, the cube shuts down, questions are no longer ‘asked’ and when the

screens reboot, a video choreography composed of visual effects begins into the LCD screens.
Slowly you move closer and closer towards the entrance of the exhibition, attracted by moving images.
